I haven't seen much scratchboard around here. Never done in myself but it really looks like fun.
He's a magnificent looking individual. (And yes, he's a he. You can tell by the tusks.)
I really like how he's just coming out of the darkness. He appears to be very intent on something. I wonder what's holding his attention so.

I've seen my friend do one and it looked like a ton of fun. Do you reckomend sketching the idea out before you dig into the thing or just...go with it?

Sketch it first, then transfer it to the board to get it centered.

By transfer, you mean black it on the back with say, ebony, and then just go over the lines with the origainal paper over the board? Or is there some other way with this medium I should know about?
